Bridget recently saw the doctor and, because her leg has been getting tighter and tighter, he would like her to wear a brace at night while she sleeps. We picked up her new (bigger) daytime brace and her nighttime brace on Wednesday. We've been trying to keep a positive attitude about the nighttime brace and have been telling her how wonderful it will be to wear a padded brace at night. That said, we weren't expecting her to agree to wear it without a fight. After all, who would want to have their leg in a brace all night!
Well, thanks to God's grace and Chip's smarts Bridget wore her brace last night...all night...without any opposition. I am so thrilled that she accepted (and is excited about) wearing her brace at night. When Bridget and I came home with her new night brace Chip brought one her favorite dolls down (her large pink dinosaur) and he explained to her that Dino was going to be wearing the butterfly brace to sleep now too (the butterfly brace is Bridget's old daytime brace that she has grown out of). Bridget was very excited to see that Dino would also be wearing a brace to sleep. So, instead of tears and angst, we had a happy and peaceful child last night!
